Bar counters in zinc or tin
|
| |
Old bars were almost always
metal-covered in order to endure the spoiling of liquids like
alcohol or hot drinks. Inox is henceforth everywhere for this use
but its aspect is quite cold so that is why we keep using
traditional methods: |

The countertop is covered with a zinc
foil with folded edge. This method is quite economic and gives an
“old zinc” look that can be sought. The counter quickly gets this
antique look and it is not simple to make it shiny. To keep it in an
unspotted state without getting aged, we can cover it with a
protective varnish. |

The second operating procedure consists in casting tin
directly on the prop and weld a decorative tin moulding all
around. This method provides a really magnificent counter
with a velvet aspect, an exceptional feel and an easy caring.
Drawback: the tin and the manufacturing are quite expensive.
